#009 March 18, 2019 Just like a new born you fall asleep, eat ,crap and cry, then it starts all over again. I was given a book that I hadn’t picked it up yet, but the title intrigued me. It was written by a man who passed away in 2011, about his experience in the early days of the Black Panther Party. “Those of Us with the experiences in the struggle have a historical responsibility to pass them on“…”Mistakes are the nursery of new ideas…share them too”…”if we hide and distort our errors, those coming after us will be condemned to repeat them”… “cannot afford the luxury of leaving it up to the historians to revel what we did”…”present conditions demand we tell our stories now” . What powerful information for a “newbirth” to wake up to. When every thing around you is new and you taking it in like a sponge, expanding with each drop of knowledge that day brings, it has to be exciting. In early childhood our little heads just wobble around without a loving, or just a caring hand to hold it steady. Although we are a sponge of growth, that gentle hand behind the neck, we have learned through “mistakes” will be needed for a while. Keeping a open mind, there are certain things we can control and certain thing we cant. Applying the “mistake” theory, which says, in coming through this life, if you doing something, you are going to make some mistakes. The only person who don’t make mistakes is the person doing nothing. In this newbirth of writing QUARTER CENTURY LIFE, I’m using all mistakes made to feed me in the “nursery of new ideas”. That first month of childhood gets us started into growth and this first month of newbirth is starting off in growth. I’m writing, blogging, setting up for publishing, asking for help, and not trying to walk before crawling. Although growth may appear slow, at times it seems like it happens in the blink of a eye. We prepare, but we never know what a day will bring. I’m trying to do something I always wanted to do, write. When GOD allowed the book, READLE THE READING BEETLE- JOURNEY TO LOVEREAD LAND, to come through me I was living a totally different life at the time. HUSTLE, BUSTLE NO spare TIME, don’t be resting on my DIME! It was about helping, changing, and making it. “25/8”, was the motto. Writing that again made me smile, I have really calmed down in “freelance”. When you don’t know , what you don’t know. you do whatever it is you have figured out, no matter how good or bad the situation, you adapt. We all have that light in us that gives of hope to be all we were purposed for. Purpose, find your light. Nobody is getting it all right. We following the folks before us and hoping from their mistakes, we learn in the ‘nursery of new ideas‘. Although I haven’t read the book it has excited neurons in my head. The quotes were from the jacket. His daughter wrote the introduction and promised him she would keep his original title. From the cover title, in these days and time, it had to be a struggle to maintain it, but like he said can’t, “continue to hide and distort our errors”. Before you can order QUARTER CENTURY LIFE, this may be a interesting book to pick up now of this mans’ journey. It excited me. Each story is seen from our own experiences, and no two people see it exactly the same. The dedication page starts with a quote from one of the greatest humans to ever live and a true fighter for humanity. “In my own country for nearly a century I have been nothing but a nigger.” -W.E.B Du Bois. Don Cox titled his book JUST ANOTHER NIGGER or Use What You Got To Get What You Need. My life in the Black Panther Party by Field Marshall Don Cox, Heyday Press. I can feel what he may of been going through from the title and jacket notes. I’m looking forward to reading and hopefully learning something new in my first month of caring and loving of my newbirth growth. I know as go through this process of writing, growing and publishing QUARTER CENTURY LIFE ,I’m going to make some mistakes, but don’t mind listening and asking for help for new ideas. Well, until my next post, HELP1HELP1
